Topic:  Fundraising from the Inside Out: Building a Culture Where Fundraising Can Thrive

During this highly interactive session, you will explore the hidden truth that fundraising success does not start by focusing on the donors “out there” but instead on your internal team and even within yourself.  You have probably heard the famous Peter Drucker “culture eats strategy for breakfast” quote, and yet still struggle with how to create a culture where fundraising thrives in your organization.   You know you need more than just the right fundraising strategy to reach your goals.  You need a team of loyal, talented, collaborative staff who truly care about your mission and one another.  Why is it that we can still feel uncomfortable about fundraising even when we deeply believe in the cause we are raising money for?   Through individual and group exercises, we will unpack how your relationship with money, your ambivalent feelings about control, interdependence, abundance and believing in possibility are deeply impacting your fundraising success.  You will walk away with a better understanding of your personal money blueprint, ways to shift your thinking and feelings around money, and tools for bringing the conversation back to your organization.

Key Takeaways

  • We each have hidden limiting beliefs that impact our experience as fundraisers.
  • By surfacing these beliefs through guided worksheets, quizzes and discussions, we can start to shift them.
  • Bringing these themes back to your organization will open new ways to talk with your colleagues about fundraising and will help build an organizational culture more conducive to fundraising.
  • By focusing on your internal staff culture, you will have more engaged employees.  Engaged employees have longer tenure in their positions. Engaged employees engage donors and volunteers.  Engaged employees are your key to unlocking your fundraising success.
