Willamette Valley Development Officers
Call for Nominations - 2009 Board of Directors

Willamette Valley Development Officers announces a call for nominations for service on its 2009 Board of Directors. Service on the WVDO Board is an excellent leadership opportunity. Board members work as a team to foster philanthropy in the greater Portland-metropolitan area and help more than 850 members, representing over 350 nonprofit organizations, increase their fundraising success. In the process, Board members develop leadership and other skills, connect with a network of development professionals and gain a fuller understanding of the region’s fundraising environment.

WVDO seeks nominees who will help the organization advance its mission of supporting people raising funds for nonprofit organizations by linking them with others in the development community and providing affordable opportunities for their professional growth and education.

Nomination process
WVDO members may nominate themselves or another member by submitting a nomination form that is one-page and easy to complete. Once nominations have been received on October 18, a WVDO nominating committee consisting of the members of the Executive Committee will propose a slate of directors for 2009. Although all nominations will be considered, WVDO will use the criteria outlined above in nominating a slate of directors. The WVDO Board will vote on that slate of directors at its November Board meeting. The WVDO membership will then vote on the slate via email vote by December.
