Leadership Development
More than ever, organizations are realizing that leadership is essential for a successful future and is the responsibility of all investors, not just those at the top. Presenters will delve into issues that might include Mentoring, Staff Retention, Measuring Success, Voids in Leadership, Growing and Inspiring a Hands-on Board, Broadening the Definition of Leadership, Auxiliaries/Junior Boards and What Business Leaders Seek from Board Membership.
Best Practice
WVDO surveys suggest that development officers want and need nuts-and-bolts strategy and innovative solutions that will move fundraising programs forward. We will explore hands-on ideas and techniques like Moving Donors along the Giving Continuum, Donor Acquisition, Applying Best Practices, and Creative Problem-Solving.
Trends in Fundraising
What is new in fundraising, what is working for others? How can organizations take new ideas and incorporate them into what’s already working in their own shops? When we only have time and resources to invest in a few new ideas, development staff needs to know what investments are critical now. Issues like Internet Fundraising, Raising Organizational Awareness through Social Networking, Community Investment by Businesses, New Models for Corporate Partnerships, Staffing from Generalist to Specialist, and Transitioning into a Fundraising Career are at the forefront.
