Program Committee members are responsible for developing and implementing an annual program strategy and calendar.  Currently, the organization offers four types of programs:

LUNCHEON PROGRAMS - WVDO’s Luncheon Programs provide a timely overview of issues and trends affecting fundraising in our community and beyond.  They are also a primary vehicle for networking and membership information.

Luncheon Committee>/i>- Needs someone willing to serve as liaison with the Zoo, where the luncheons are held.  They are also hoping to find someone to work with the chair to develop an event checklist of all that has to happen for a luncheon program.

THIRD THURSDAY SKILLS FORUM - This series is designed as a “Development 101” level training program that provides a more hands-on overview of information every fundraiser should know.  Ideal for the entry-level development professional or volunteer, or for those making a career move into nonprofit fundraising, this program attempts to cover the basics over the course of 10 programs each year (no August or December program).

  • Third Thursday Committee - Is looking for a writer to craft descriptions for the season of Third Thursday Programs for marketing purposes.  Third Thursdays also needs help compiling data from surveys to help plan upcoming sessions.

ADVANCED SKILLS WORKSHOP - This series is designed for the nonprofit professional with 5 or more years of development experience.  These 1/2 day workshops delve deeper into topics than regular workshops allow.  Regional and National speakers are often presenters at these events.

VANCOUVER SERIES - This series was developed in cooperation with the Nonprofit Network of SW Washington.  This free series is an opportunity for development professionals in the Vancouver area to attend workshops without travelling out of the area.  Local speakers, regional speakers recruited by the Nonprofit Network are often presenters at these events.

2010 REGIONAL CONFERENCE/CRYSTAL AWARDS - This bi-ennial conference and annual awards event will occur on May 20-21, 2010 at the Lloyd Center Doubletree.  The Regional Conference brings national speakers as well as extraordinary local speakers together for 2-days of education, peer-to-peer networking and development training.  The 17th Annual Crystal Awards are an opportunity to recognize excellence in the field of development.  Individuals are nominated for this award and awards are presented at an Awards Breakfast the second day of the conference.

NEW PROGRAMMING - WVDO Programming Committee is always open to hearing from members about their latest questions, experiences and insights on fundraising.  Suggestions of speakers, topics and learning opportunities can be sent to WVDO at:  (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
